What You’ll Be Trained to Deliver

The Experience: A Two-Hour Mindfulness Workshop

As a certified Calligraphy Zen facilitator, you will be equipped to deliver The Experience — a two-hour workshop designed as a guided entry into Chinese calligraphy as a meditative practice.

The workshop runs in English, requires no prior calligraphy or Chinese language knowledge, and is designed for groups of two to fifteen.

Format

2 hours with groups of 2–15. Guided discovery, hands-on instruction, and a tangible keepsake every participant takes home.

Contexts

Intimate private studios, boutique cafes, private events, and community gatherings — wherever stillness meets intention.

Language

Taught in English — accessible to international guests and local participants alike. No Chinese language background required.

Outcome

Participants create authentic calligraphic work rooted in a living art form recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The Facilitator path is designed for people who have a genuine curiosity about calligraphy and a desire to share it — not those with the highest technical skill. What matters most is your presence, warmth, and the ability to create a grounding experience. No prior calligraphy experience is required.

The June 2026 cohort is held in-person in Taiwan. However, the Facilitator program also runs fully online with recorded lessons and scheduled live sessions. Online-certified Facilitators are eligible for the same practicum support and workshop referrals through Calligraphy Zen partner programs.

We help. Practicum placements can be arranged through Calligraphy Zen community programs and partner events. Certified Facilitators are also eligible for curated referrals — so there is a real pathway to paid teaching from day one.

English-speaking proficiency is preferred, as the program and workshops are delivered primarily in English. Bilingual materials in Traditional Chinese are provided. You do not need any Chinese language background to participate.

If you miss this window, book a free consultation and we will talk about the next available cohort or whether a self-paced arrangement could work for you.
